My dad never likes to admit it, he is getting older and his body can’t do what it could when he was in his thirties. That being said, he’s definitely not the type who wants to slow down, especially on the golf course. Playing golf is something he’s done since he was a kid and he plans on doing it for the rest of his life. That’s why my sister and I told him to either look into using one of the golf carts available at the golf course or to even consider purchasing one of his own.
How can golf carts help someone enjoy the game of golf longer?
– Carts are great for people who just can’t handle walking a full 18-hole course.
– They are great for those who get tired or lose their breath easily.
– They make carrying golf equipment around the course much easier.
– A cart can actually help you play better by saving your energy for the golf swings rather than the walking.
Golf carts aren’t just fun little vehicles to drive around the course. They are actually very useful and can help you enjoy the game of golf longer. Before buying a cart, however, there are some things you need to consider.
Not all carts are the same, although most are powered by a 4-stroke engine, measure 4 feet wide by 8 feet long and six feet high and weigh approximately 900 to 1,000 pounds. Not everyone needs a golf cart, but for those of us who find it harder and harder to walk a full 18-hole golf course, a cart can be a lifesaver.
The first thing you should do when you go shopping for a golf cart is consider your budget. They aren’t inexpensive and if you want a brand new model you should plan on spending at least two-thousand dollars. If that’s completely out of the question and your budget just can’t swing it, consider purchasing a used model. It’s not impossible to find some used golf carts for sale for just a few hundred dollars.
If you do buy a used cart make sure you drive it before you buy it. Just like cars, golf course carts can go bad. If it doesn’t drive right or the engine sounds funny look elsewhere. You don’t want to get stuck with a lemon.
When you do find the right golf cart make sure you maintain it properly. Your golf cart can give you years of use on the golf course and can help you play golf better and for longer periods of time.
