Choosing the Right Parts
Many people enjoy customizing their golf cart which can be as simple as placing decal stickers on the cart or as complex as installing new wheels, tires and a dashboard. Either way, a custom cart will stand apart from the others at your gold club.
You should consider which accessories are essential to have. For example, if you enjoy playing golf in all types of weather, then you should think about investing in a clear enclosure. This enclosure will help to protect the cart from the elements and will also enable you to install a heater or air conditioning unit if you wish.
A windshield is another good feature to install. It can look sporty but its main function is to protect the cart and you from stray golf balls. However, if you do buy a windshield, then it is important to polish it and coat it so that it can withstand a good amount of wear and tear. Buying windshield wipers is also important, especially if you will be driving your Club Car off the golf course. There are both mechanized and manual windshield wipers and the latter are less expensive and surprisingly are not as hard to use as you might think.
Other optional accessories include a radio, CD player, dashboard and storage box. When buying any one of these accessories, make sure the part is a good fit. Note the model of your cart and check the part label carefully. If you are adding accessories to your Precedent then you might find that parts designed for the XRT, Carryall or other utility vehicle will not fit. It is also important to make sure the part in question is well made and can take a fair bit of wear and tear.
